Bill the Pianist...

Just after Bill got his college undergraduate degree for an adventure he booked out as a dinner and cocktail pianist playing fine 5-Star hotel dining rooms throughout the U.S.

where Bill played...

Bill played engagements at the St. Louis Playboy Club and Chase-Park Plaza Hotel, New York's Waldorf-Astoria, Los Angeles' Beverly Wilshire, Chicago's Palmer House, San Francisco's Top of the Mark, private dinner party honoring Laura Bush and Attorney General Greg Abbott.

But then it came time to settle down.

After three years of travel it was time for him to settle down.

His famous music and touch remain very much in damand in Dallas circles...

He continues playing his style of light cocktail jazz -- the music of Gershwin, Kern, Mancini, Sinatra, Bennett, Torme, show tunes and the like -- for receptions, business functions, dinner parties and weddings.

Piano Tuner...

As Bill traveled it became apparent to him that the hotel management usually had no way of knowing whether the piano tuner they used could tune or not! 

And it stood to reason...

Afterall, the manager wasn't the pianist, Bill was, for goodness sakes. 

And yet Bill was depending on the hotel manager to get something done that the manager probably hadn't the ear to do.. 

Here's the irony...

Lots of piano tuners picked from the Yellow Pages come with tin ears!. 

So what they do is to take an out-of-tune piano and tune it so it will still be out-of-tune, just in a different way.  

Ouch!  

So to save his sanity, once while Bill was playing a gig in Orlando, Florida, he took a course at nearby Rollins College in piano tuning and repair. 

Ah, the perfect solution! 

And Bill's always been glad that he did.  And his clients are, too...especially those who are professional pianists and teachers and those who have recording studios.
